Simon and Kate at Buckingham Palace

Simon and Kate attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday! They were invited, along with Scott (the owner of Netready the company that Simon works for) and Scott’s partner, after the company designed a Government web site – at least I think that is the case. No doubt Simon will correct me if I am wrong.

They travelled London, well as far as Watford, the night before, stopping with Kate’s sister and brother in Law, travelling into the City the following morning for a restaurant lunch, and then popping in to the palace for afternoon tea with the Queen.

Actually Simon was a little vague about the royalty present, although he did see The Queen, Prince Phillip (his 93rd birthday, apparently) and the Duchess of Cambridge (or Kate, as most of us call her, in a somewhat over-familiar manner).  The Royal Party walked along “lanes” through the guests, to their “tea-tent”. Simon said that the crowds were quite deep along the lanes, and he and Kate were about 5 people from the front, and so the view was a little limited. But once the Royalty has settled down and were dunking their rich tea biscuits in their Earl Grey Tea, everyone else could relax and explore the extensive grounds, with loads of room for everyone.
