We lost Mum two years ago yesterday, and so we had a family gathering at The Elm’s in Lutterworth last night, always a favourite venue for Mum and Dad. Unfortunately Ros was unable to travel down from West Yorkshire, but otherwise it was a “full house”.
Dad is doing well, and is not short of close friends and neighbours. Thanks to living in the same house for 45 years Dad has a large “support network” which is definitely a two way process – Dad provides as much support as he receives! The notice that Dad placed in the local paper sums it up:
Just two years since Barbara died suddenly after a long illness. We miss her a lot, but many thanks to our friends and neighbours, who have been very supportive.
It was a nice gathering last night – an extensive menu and good company, and most of us went back to Dad’s afterwards to continue the chat and gossip.
See “Our Recent Photos” for a few photos.

Technically we live in Oaktree House, but sadly the tree had to go.
We now have a thriving Oakstump at the front of the house.
