It was my niece Megan’s 18th birthday party on Tuesday, and so we collected Dad from Lutterworth and went over to Kettering for a family meal on Saturday evening. Unfortunately Matthew, Simon and Kate were not free, but since Megan is in the middle of A-level exams I suspect that it a quiet celebration was possibly a good thing. We had an excellent meal, and the bubbly flowed, and we enjoyed a couple of card games.
I gather that Megan will be celebrating further with friends in due course, and the family will be gathering again in a couple of weeks for a birthday clay pigeon shoot! Now that is my kind of 18th birthday party….
Technically we live in Oaktree House, but sadly the tree had to go.
We now have a thriving Oakstump at the front of the house.
